Workshop Agenda & Descriptions

Session 1: Loosen Up Your Painting in Watercolor

Ignore the detail, create the mood! In this first class, Ron will focus on why creating mood in a painting is more important than achieving total accuracy. He'll also walk you through the first few things you can do to loosen up your painting style.

Session 2: Painting Architecture in Watercolor

In this workshop, Ron will demonstrate depicting an iconic bridge. He will focus on why working with a limited palette is a good idea, important rules of perspective, and how to create good tension in your painting while avoiding bad tension.

Session 3: Painting Dramatic Interiors in Watercolor

Painting a moody interior can be tricky due to the multiple light sources, architectural detail and figures. Discover why all of that detail should be an afterthought. In this class, Ron will show how he simplifies these elements to make everything in the scene feel connected.

Session 4: Go Big and Bold for Nighttime Scenes in Watercolor

Paint nocturnal scenes that have impact and energy. In the final workshop in this series, One will show you what watercolor can do when we get out of it's way.
